2018 has been a great year for our consultants, candidates, and clients, with many changes impacting the business and the team in a positive way. Like a proud parent sharing your achievements with family and friends, we decided it was time to fill you in with what’s been going on here at Eligo over the last year.
Two office moves
After a big move over Christmas 2017, we started off the year in a brand new London office and opened up a new base in Birmingham! With our London based office, we were lucky enough to find a great space right in the heart of Wimbledon, however,
Head of Technology Rick Deller made a big move up north to set
up a technology team in Birmingham!
We have been very fortunate to welcome a handful of new recruiters to the Eligo divisions in 2018; Michaela Hutton joined Eligo Medical, Giovanni Golino, Giulia Barbadoro and Martina Lagomarsino to Eligo SAP, Katie Parker and Liam Evans to Eligo Technology, as well as Martin Fahey, Kate Roberts, Jake Cooley, Josh Platt and Jaimie Dickinson-davies to Eligo Lighting and Building Services. It’s an exciting time here at Eligo, and we’re very happy to work with such talented individuals who we are sure will only continue to help Eligo expand further in 2019.
Additions to the Eligo Family
As well as new recruiters joining us in 2018, we have also welcomed 3 new little ones to the Eligo family – with Rick having twin girls and our Group General Manager Vicky Bodhani giving birth to a baby boy just before Christmas.
Our top billers and central operations celebrated their quarterly achievements with some fantastic activities this year, from a cocktail making masterclass and Junkyard mini golf to some seriously competitive go-karting. The incentives are chosen by the top biller of the quarter and gives the team a chance to leave early to blow off some steam and have some fun, usually followed by a lovely meal and drinks out in London.
Getting out from behind our desks
Eligo consultants are passionate about the sectors they work in and regularly attend and exhibit events throughout the year. This year included a Security exhibition in Nottingham, A SUGCON conference in Amsterdam, an SAP conference in Italy and a Perl programming conference in Glasgow! For Rick, otherwise known as PerlRick, it was his 6th time attending and first time organising the Perl Conference in Glasgow where Perl Mongers, Developers, Administrators, Technical Managers and everyone interested in Perl showed up to discuss and celebrate all things Perl.
Forming new divisions
At the start of the year, we welcomed a new team member and a new division! Senior Recruiter Martin brought with him his expert knowledge of the Lighting and electrical sector to grow and lead our Fire & Security team into a new Building Services division. Meet the team here!
We’re excited about technology that can help us achieve more and do our jobs in new and exciting ways. This year we made the first steps to introduce a brand new video service that takes the hiring process one step further, offering a valuable option for candidates and clients (If you want to find out more about how we can provide this service, from CV videos to virtual interviews, then please get in touch!)
That’s a wrap
At the end of every month, we take our weekly wrap-ups one step further; getting the drinks out, holding an extended wrap-up to talk about all things Eligo. This includes updates from the Managers meetings, team lightning talks, and insight into company turnover and beyond, we also cemented our company values this year and bring these to life through value-based activity and games.
Its been a successful 2018 and we fully look forward to sharing many more like it in 2019! As well as providing great advice on your career, presenting at leading industry events, and fulfilling your recruitment needs, our team of top recruiters have carried on redefining recruitment the Eligo way. We’re proud of our Eligoids, the culture and ethos displayed throughout our team. If you are a driven achiever and think you have what it takes to be a part of Eligo then get in touch!
