Google launches new site for Web Developers

Google is giving web developers a place to learn, create and solve problems on the web with launch of The new website will provide actionable guidance and analysis for developers to test their sites and apps, or start to learn how they can improve them.

Apple employs trafficking survivors to eradicate slave labour 

After winning an international award for making details of its supply chains public in a bid to help end modern slavery, Facebook has announced it will be employing trafficking survivors to work in its retail stores.

Uber Loses $1bn in three months

Uber has reported a quarterly loss of $1.07bn as it pumped money into bikes, scooters and food deliveries. It faces pressure to show it can still grow enough to become profitable as it prepares for an initial public offering some time next year.

Blackberry buys AI firm Cylance for $1.4bn

Blackberry confirms today its acquiring Clyance, a US artificial intelligence and cybersecurity firm for $1.4bn. The deal is expected to close before the end of Blackberry’s current financial year in February 2019, pending regulatory approval.
