What You'll Be Doing
You'll play a vital role in ensuring electrical safety during commissioning, energisation and system handover across major engineering projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing Electrical Safe Systems of Work throughout project delivery
- Issuing and controlling permits for energised electrical activities
- Supporting commissioning, testing and energisation programmes
- Coordinating Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
- Reviewing electrical distribution systems before energisation
- Working alongside Senior Authorised Persons, commissioning engineers and specialist contractors
- Supporting switchgear inspections, protection systems and energisation activities
- Witnessing electrical testing and ensuring documentation is completed correctly
- Attending commissioning and planning meetings
- Driving the highest standards of electrical safety on site

Requirements
You'll ideally have experience as an:
- Electrical Authorised Person
- Appointed Person (Electrical)
- Senior Commissioning Engineer
- Electrical Commissioning Technician
- Electrical Commissioning Manager
- Senior Electrical Engineer with HV/LV energisation experience
You'll also have experience with:
- Electrical Safe Systems of Work
- Permit to Work systems
- Lock Out / Tag Out procedures
- LV and/or HV electrical systems
- Electrical testing and commissioning
- Switchgear and protection systems
- Reading electrical drawings and schematics
- Working safely within live electrical environments
