Data Centre Supervisor

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Data Centre Supervisor to join a growing technology and infrastructure business, supporting critical data centre environments in Manchester.

This is a hands-on supervisory position focused on MAC (Moves, Adds & Changes), BAU operations and structured cabling within a high-availability, 24/7 environment.

The role:
• Continental shift pattern – 4 days on / 4 days off
• 12-hour shifts
• Overtime paid where required
• Site-based in Manchester
• Candidates should ideally live within approximately a 1-hour commute of the site

What you’ll be doing:
• Supervising MAC and BAU activities across the data centre
• Managing structured cabling, installation, testing, fault finding and decommissioning
• Allocating workloads, managing resources and supporting shift coverage
• Coordinating with clients, internal teams and third-party vendors
• Monitoring SLA performance and escalating issues
• Supporting incident management and first-line technical troubleshooting
• Maintaining H&S, quality and client standards
• Managing documentation, reporting, assets and ticketing systems
• Supporting projects from design through to handover

What we’re looking for:
• Strong experience within a Data Centre MAC environment
• Extensive structured cabling experience across copper and fibre
• Previous supervisory/team leadership experience
• Good knowledge of data centre infrastructure and cabling standards
• Experience with ticketing, asset management and service delivery
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 operational environment

Previous experience working within banking, financial services or large enterprise data centres would be highly advantageous.

Certifications such as BICSI, CDCTP, CDCMP, CCNA, CompTIA or ITIL would also be beneficial.
