Last Thursday, the whole Eligo team came together for our Annual Growth Meeting and Summer Party, with consultants travelling in from across the UK and Italy. There's something different about the energy in the room when everyone's actually in the same place, and it showed from the moment people started arriving and catching up.
Senior management opened with a look at the recruitment market as it stands today. It's a different landscape from the one we were operating in a year ago, and the conversation focused on what that means for how we work with our clients and candidates going forward.
From there, we turned to what's next. We talked through the technology we're bringing into the business to strip the admin out of the day, so our consultants can spend less time on process and more time doing what they're genuinely good at: talking to people.
The final part of the day came back to something we believe strongly: recruitment is a people business, and it always will be. However good the tools we use get, the value we bring comes from listening well, building trust, and understanding what our clients and candidates really need. That's the part no amount of technology replaces.
By the afternoon we headed to Wimbledon Common to unwind and make the most of the sun. It's easy to forget how much you miss people until you're standing next to them again, and Thursday was a good reminder that the best part of Eligo has always been the people in it.
