You will take full ownership of the project lifecycle—from concept through to construction and client handover—ensuring that all deliverables meet rigorous programme, budget, and quality objectives.

About You
  • Experience: A minimum of 9 years of mechanical design experience, with a mandatory background in Data Centre engineering projects.
  • Education: Hold a relevant professional qualification (Honours Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering).
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of HVAC, building controls, and mission-critical cooling infrastructure. Experience in the design of plumbing and drainage systems is highly preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead large-scale projects, interpret briefs from project leads, and maintain control over complex technical tasks.
  • Communication: Exceptional report-writing skills and the ability to articulate complex engineering concepts clearly to clients and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise effectively, and delegate tasks to meet strict deadlines.
  • Vision: A senior member of the team capable of delivering world-class developments for some of the largest global technology firms.
Your Day-to-Day Activities
  • Design Leadership: Lead the mechanical services design on major data centre projects, ensuring adherence to global best practices.
  • Team Oversight: Manage the development and workload of team members to optimise productivity and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Client Engagement: Act as the key point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and delivering tailored engineering solutions.
  • Commercial Management: Review contract terms and conditions to control scope creep and protect project integrity.
  • Strategic Delegation: Delegate tasks strategically to enhance team engagement and ensure maximum value for the project.
  • Reporting: Provide regular progress updates to the Group Management Team, ensuring transparency and alignment with organisational goals.
  • Mentorship: Take an active role in the training and professional development of junior and intermediate engineers within the group.
  • Quality Control: Oversee the mechanical design standards within the organisation, ensuring every package meets established QA benchmarks.
Key Technical Focus Areas
Operating out of our Dublin hub, you will oversee the implementation of advanced cooling and infrastructure technologies:
  • Hyperscale Cooling: Design and optimisation of chilled water plants, adiabatic cooling, and direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems.
  • Redundancy & Reliability: Ensuring $N 1$ or $2N$ mechanical configurations to meet Tier III and Tier IV uptime requirements.
  • Sustainability: Leading designs for heat reuse and improved Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) metrics.
  • BMS/EMS Integration: Overseeing the coordination of complex building management and energy monitoring systems.
Professional Growth
While this is a senior role requiring prior data centre expertise, we provide continuous mentorship and training to help the right candidate progress into a Lead role within our global Data Centre division.
