CAD Technician – Security & Fire Systems
Location: Harlow (Office-based with move to Hybrid Working)
Salary: Up to £34,000 (DOE)

We’re looking for a CAD Technician to join our growing Projects Department in Harlow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong AutoCAD skills who wants to work on interesting projects in the fire, security, and life safety sectors.

You'll play a key role in producing precise 2D drawings and schematics for systems including Fire Alarm, Security, Warden Call, Disabled Refuge, and PAVA.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Produce detailed technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD (2D focus, with some Revit exposure)
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, sales, and installation teams to interpret project requirements
  • Create elevation plans and layout drawings for tender, design, and installation phases
  • Modify existing drawings and manage revisions
  • Conduct site visits and surveys when required
  • Prepare commissioning drawings, zone charts, and O&M manuals
  • Maintain accurate documentation and work closely with document control
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proficient AutoCAD user – can work independently
  • Working knowledge of Revit (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
  • Good communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external consultants
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Common-sense approach with a proactive attitude
