Update on clarification of 'key worker' status for the security industry

On the 20th of March, calls were made from various associations in the security industry for the UK Government to clarify the status of security professionals under its list of key worker definitions. The latest update for this came on 26th of March with a general statement from James Brokenshire, Minister for State of Security at the Home Office. "Security & Fire safety personnel can play a vital role at this time of national challenge. People working in these sectors who are essential to national infrastructure are "Key Workers" for the purposes of the Government's guidance on COIVD-19".

CCTV cameras used to catch businesses still open during Lockdown in Wigan

Wigan council will use CCTV cameras to catch businesses that are still open during the Lockdown. Bars, Restaurants and cafes were ordered to close by the Prime Minister last Friday evening in a bid to tackle the spread of Coronavirus. Even more stringent measures were imposed on Monday the 23rd where non-essential shops and gyms were also ordered to close. Wigan Council has now said they've brought in new powers that will allow them to close businesses that have been caught flouting the new rules.
