Azure Service Fabric is released to open source

Microsoft’s Service Fabric Team announced the open-source release of Azure Service Fabric under the MIT licence yesterday. While the Service Fabric repo available on the project’s GitHub contains build and test tools for Linux, allowing users to clone and build Service Fabric on Linux systems, run basic tests, open issues and submit pull requests, the team says it is “working hard” on migrating the Windows build environment to GitHub with a complete continuous integration environment.

Airbnb makes service more accessible to people with disabilities

The online marketplace Airbnb has made some changes to its platform to make it easier for people with disabilities to find accommodations that suit their needs. This willingness to be inclusive of people with disabilities comes around the same time that Lyft and Uber are facing lawsuits over the lack of options available for people who use wheelchairs.

Physicist Stephen Hawking has died aged 76

Physicist and cosmology’s brightest star has died at his home in Cambridge, aged 76. Hi insights shaped modern cosmology and inspired global audiences in the millions. In a statement that confirmed his death at home in Cambridge, Hawking’s children said: “We are deeply saddened that our beloved father passed away today. He was a great scientist and an extraordinary man whose work and legacy will live on for many years. His courage and persistence with his brilliance and humour inspired people across the world.”
