Last week Eligo Technology were pleased to welcome experienced CTO James Oughton to say ‘hello from the other side’ of the desk, offering us a first-hand insight into what Senior Hiring Managers expect from recruiters, their processes, and how we can adapt our way of working to benefit both our candidates and clients.
The talk comes as part of our ongoing training and insight programme, which has also included a recent session with an Agile coach and mentor to learn how we can utilise the communication system within our team whilst continually getting a better understanding of the developers we work with on a daily basis.
His view of the hiring process in which Eligo shares a common ethos, is that it is very much a human thing and building a relationship with the hiring manager is an effective way to benefit both the business and candidate. It was also a helpful reminder that as recruiters we should be digging deeper into the business problems and needs.
James also offered great insight into the thinking of a CTO, presenting us with effective ways to approach hiring managers to build that initial connection and help the business with their recruiting process. Our consultants found the talk invaluable and had plenty of questions for James to get a CTO’s thoughts on recruitment, good and bad hiring processes he has experienced and what he’s looking for in candidates.
