Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join them in their Madrid office. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineering professional with strong technical expertise, project leadership capabilities and a passion for delivering innovative building services solutions.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in leading major projects, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of engineering solutions across a wide range of building sectors. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and design teams while helping to drive technical excellence and project performance.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the delivery of major engineering projects from concept through to completion.
• Manage and coordinate the design and development of mechanical or electrical building services installations and systems.
• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, programme management, and project reporting.
• Conduct feasibility studies, prepare fee proposals, and support commercial project performance through cost and profit analysis.
• Develop and specify controls, instrumentation, and operating systems for building engineering services.
• Survey, test, assess, and report on existing mechanical and electrical installations.
• Ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and commissioning activities meet project specifications and client requirements.
• Represent the company at client meetings, technical workshops, and contractor coordination meetings.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, designs, and drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and legislation.
• Provide technical leadership, advice, and day-to-day project guidance to clients and project teams.
• Lead engineering services coordination across disciplines.
• Support project delivery in line with company standards covering project management, financial management, quality assurance, technical review, and risk management.
• Drive effective risk monitoring, performance management, and internal control processes.

What we're looking for

• Degree (Grado) or Master's qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Registration with a recognised Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros.
• Proven experience in the design and specification of building services across multiple building types.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering systems within the built environment.
• Sound understanding of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications and engineering calculation/spreadsheet software.
• Knowledge of relevant British Standards (BS) and international engineering standards.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet project deadlines.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities.
• Previous experience within a consulting engineering or construction environment is preferred.
• Understanding of international project delivery and the operations of a global consultancy would be advantageous.
