Associate Mechanical Engineer
Manchester
Mechanical Building Services | MEP Consultancy | HVAC Design | Associate Engineer Jobs
What does it look like to lead meaningful engineering work across healthcare, data centres, commercial and residential projects — all from one role, in one city?
Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy with a strong Manchester presence and a track record spanning some of the most technically varied sectors in
the built environment. They're looking for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to step into a senior, client-facing position — someone ready to lead projects, grow a team, and leave a real mark on the region.
What the role involves:
Owning client relationships from initial brief through to project delivery, acting as the primary point of contact on larger schemes
Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, delegating effectively and maintaining quality standards throughout
Driving business development — contributing to bids and promoting the full range of consultancy services
Monitoring project budgets and reporting on cost and resource requirements
Supporting the development of a high-performing local team and investing in the people around you
What they're looking for:
Proven mechanical engineering experience in a consultancy setting, with strong knowledge of HVAC, heating and ventilation systems
Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD
Confident communicator with experience managing both internal teams and external client relationships
Familiarity with relevant British Standards and a multidisciplinary design environment
Someone who understands how complementary specialisms — acoustics, fire engineering, computational modelling — influence building services design
What's on offer:
9-day fortnight working pattern
Up to 30 days annual leave
Private medical cover
EV salary sacrifice scheme stock options
A supportive, flexible culture with genuine investment in career progression
A broad role with real leadership scope, in a city with a thriving construction and infrastructure market.
