In this exciting role as Software Engineer, you will join the Research Informatics team at the new West London Research & Development (R&D) unit within this ambitious multi-national consumer goods company.

In your role, you will be focusing on building leading edge scientific applications with modern technology stacks, which will be used by their research partners to drive forward their innovation in drug discovery. You will be part of a team that supports discovery research globally through creative IS and Data Science solutions to accelerate and grow the company's pipeline of biopharmaceuticals.

As Informatics Software Engineer you will be utilising a wide range of cutting-edge technologies including (but not limited to):

  • Software development languages including but not limited to Java, .NET and C#
  • Web technologies including EXTJS, D3 JS, and React.JS
  • Container technologies e.g. Docker
  • DevOps tools e.g. Jenkins, Jira, GitHub
  • Cloud - AWS
  • Data Analytics and Visualisation tools and technologies - Python, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Spotfire and Tableau
  • HPC (High Performance Computing) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) - STARLIMS, Watson, CoreLIMS, etc.

You will be using these diverse technologies along with your strong learning agility and ability to pick up new technologies to perform your main duties as Informatics Software Engineer including;

  • creation of systems to enable end to end Informatics solutions in support of research activities to discover lead drug candidates;
  • help to shape the Research Informatics technology portfolio through software engineering contributions;
  • implementation of IS solutions for research that will uncover new and deeper insights for the discovery of novel therapeutics;
  • implementation of informatics solutions in data acquisition, integration and analysis;
  • collaboration within the Research informatics team to ensure all services are reliable, maintainable, and well-integrated into existing platforms
