As Infrastructure Manager, reporting to the CTO, you will have overall responsibility and accountability for the management and delivery of the Operations and IT Systems Teams, totalling 7 people. These teams are responsible for the improvement, maintenance, and support of their website platform product.

You will be responsible for maintaining and deploying AWS and Co-lo hosted platforms, utilising open source components in a Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) environment, deploying monitoring using tools like Nagios, ELK, Grafana and Graphite, as well as using CI and CD deployment methods including IaaS.

You will be the final point of escalation prior to the CTO, and as such you will be expected to have strong technical knowledge.

Prior Project Management experience will be ideal as you will be managing infrastructure and systems projects, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered to specification and on time. You will also have budget responsibility for the hardware and software requirements of the platform systems.

To succeed as Infrastructure Manager, you will:

  • Have experience of leading by example, and excellent people management skills
  • Have technical know-how of working with open source components, and databases in a Linux environment, as well as the deployment of IaaS
  • Thrive at working on high traffic, high availability website platforms with large datasets.
  • Be clued up on the technical architecture, standards, and processes required for a modern web platform, including microservices, containerisation, and CI/CD deployment strategies.
