About my client:

My client is one of the fastest-growing manufacturers of Door Entry, CCTV, Home Automation, Access Control, Intruder Alarm and Fire Alarm systems in the electronic security market at the moment, with over 60 years of experience, their products are sold in over 80 countries worldwide through an extensive technical and sales network.

Seeking:

I am seeking an experienced HR Manager to be based out of my client's Centre of Excellence of Access Control in Manchester.

As HR Manager you will have a detrimental impact on assisting the organisation run smoothly by ensuring that all company processes are compliant with employment regulations and that all personnel act in line with company policies.

A large part of the job involves supporting current staff by dealing with employee grievances or conflicts, dealing with people on every level and will lead the HR department from a GB perspective.

This is a standalone HR role.

You will be a trusted advisor and true business partner to the employees in both Manchester and Luton sites, working closely with the business unit Leadership Team, their direct reports, and employees in providing a comprehensive and professional HR service.

Salary and package:

  • Up to £40k plus package
  • This a is a full Time Position
  • Office based role.
  • 6-month probationary period
  • 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays PLUS the centre closes between Christmas and New Year

Required Skills for this role:

  • A proven track record of working as a HR professional.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalise ideas
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and support HR function
  • A solid understanding of the key principles of employment law
  • The ability to remain calm in stressful situations such as disciplinary hearings or staff conflicts
  • Knowledge of the relevant computer systems and software programs for example SAP.
  • Solid ethics and morals and sound judgement.

Qualifications: any of these will be considered:

  • Higher national diploma or a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Management.
  • Master's Degree in Human Resource Management.
  • The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
  • CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Diploma in HR Management
  • CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in HR Management.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Overseeing internal recruitment, selection, and the onboarding process
  • Managing a company's appraisal system and conducting appraisal meetings.
  • Ensuring that a company's procedures comply with employment regulations.
  • Monitoring various aspects of an employee's performance, such as attendance and sick leave.
  • Handling any disciplinary processes and formal grievances.
  • Setting and reviewing pay structures and employee perks and benefits.
  • Ensure leaders are equipped to manage performance, absence, and employee relations effectively within their business area.
  • Support line managers with Performance Reviews, Retention & Succession planning, as and when required.
  • Ensuring there is a culture of open communication and inclusion, using all forms of media to engage with colleagues
  • Providing meaningful HR reporting which identifies opportunities, challenges, and issues within the business
  • Advise / support managers with disciplinary and grievance issues including issue of associated letters, conducting investigations, & note taking in hearings where appropriate
  • To support the management of organisational changes resulting in complex employee relations activities, including TUPE transfers, acquisition, restructures, and redundancy exercises
  • To assist with litigious ER cases and tribunal claims, liaising with legal partners accordingly - as and when required.
  • Draft / introduce & regularly review HR policies and procedures in line with legislation changes
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
