Building management market is growing

According to the latest report published by Marketsandmarkets estimates that the building management system market will be worth USD 19.25 billion by 2023, growing at a CAGR of 16.71% between 2017 and 2023. The significant cost benefits to the industrial, commercial, and residential users, simplified building operations and maintenance, and increasing demand for energy-efficient and eco-friendly buildings are the main factors driving the market growth.

The future of the global smart cities

Biometrics preferred for security 

According to the survey by Mastercard and the University of Oxford, British consumers are increasingly eager to use biometrics as part of the purchasing process with 93% of consumers saying they would choose biometrics over the traditional security measures. “Biometrics recognition devices will increasingly become part of everyday life for the majority of people whether in the workplace or at leisure. It is the idea of convenience that is driving this trend, the convenience of not having to remember a password, or an ID card, the convenience of the individual being the credential for identification.”

Cybersecurity and potential losses for your business

The latest Annual Cybersecurity Report (ACR) by Cisco reveals that over one-third of organisations that experienced a breach in 2016 reported substantial customer, opportunity and revenue loss of more than 20 percent. The global report highlights challenges and opportunities for security teams to defend against the relentless evolution of cyber crime and shifting attack modes. “Relentless improvement is required and that should be measured via efficacy, cost, and well managed risk.”

Nominations are now open! The awards are given in 4 main categories: Manager, Fronline, Technical, Cointribution to Industry. Deadline for entries is 11 August 2017 and the awards will take place on board the Harmony cruise boat of Bateaux London on the evening of 14 September and will be hosted this year by the National Security Inspectorate.
