Global electronic access control market is booming

According to the report published by, the global electronic access control (EAC) market (valued at $ 4.7 billion in 2015) will expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.3% through 2024, driven by increasing need to achieve enhanced physical and data security at various residential, commercial, industrial and government and defense facilities. The access control as a service (ACaaS) segment has been identified as the most promising segment in the overall access control market across the world.

Axis Communications Financial Results and the state of Global Video Surveillance

Axis Communications recently reported a very positive Q1 2017 performance with net sales increasing by 29% and profit increasing by 53% with operating margin growing to 11.6%. Additionally, R&D spending grew 30%, showing that they are continuing to invest in product developments and advancements. This would suggest that it has not yet been adversely affected by Hikvision’s strategy of going for volume through relentless price reductions and seemingly little concern for profitability.
