What does a Python Developer do?

Python developers are required to use the Python Programming language to develop, implement and debug certain projects. This ranges from creating an application, designing a framework for code and building all the tools needed for the project.

The average salary for a Python developer is £52,000 dependant on experience and location. The work of a Python Developer requires skills in front end development with knowledge of basic frameworks in JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Other skills in Object-relational mappers, developing and using RESTful APIs are also required for a Python Development role.

Python Developer roles range from Junior Python Developer or Junior Python Engineer, right up to Senior Python Developer, Python Development Lead and Head of Python Development or Engineering.

What is Python Development?

Python, like PHP, is a server-side and non-compiled dynamic programming language that can be used on its own or as part of another framework. As it’s a general-purpose language Python is pretty much used for everything from server automation to data science and machine learning. Most companies are now starting to implement machine learning within their data teams, meaning Python will be the most commonly used language to implement advanced algorithms. The language also extends to creating mobile apps, building websites, software and games to helping researchers decipher their data and provide database access.
