advanced nurse practitioner

An Advanced Nurse Practitioner is an experienced Registered Nurse who is responsible for the clinical care of patients, mainly primary care of adults aged 12 and over. Main duties of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner includediagnosis, treatment, and medication prescribing, as well as preventative care such as health management, health promotion, disease prevention and ongoing management of patients. Advanced Nurse Practitioners have good communication skills and deal with a range of patients and complex and common conditions on a daily basis 

Advanced Nurse Practitioners work independently within medical surgeries, hospitals, nursing homes, primary and urgent care, community and prisons.  

Earnings for Advanced Nurse Practitioners vary depending on their contract of work; salaried ANP’s can earn up to £55,000 whereas ANP’s that work on a contractual basis can earn up to £50 - £55 per hour.
