Key Duties and Responsibilities

Although the scope and focus of the day to day activities within the role will change dependent on business requirements, the following should be considered the core activities:

·         Responsible for understanding, reviewing and analysing business and technical specifications to identify test requirements

·         Produce functional, non functional and automation test plans as required based on above

·         Write and execute test cases, log and support defect resolution with the relevant parties, ensuring re-testing and closure

·         Undertake System, End-to-end and Regression testing on handsets and websites

·         Technical and non functional testing of applications and infrastructure including J2ME, Oracle, Sun and Apache technologies

·         Responsible for creation, management and support of the automation test harnesses, test tools, simulators and scripts

·         Provide metrics from the tests for analysis and to maintain records of test progress and test results

·         Co-ordinate with technical and non-technical teams internally, and external parties in agreeing test plans, data, tools, resources and timescales, and reporting on the results of such agreements

·         Assist in problem discovery, logging, and re-testing of new functionality

·         Provide assistance to internal and external operational staff in the performance of Operational Acceptance testing

·         Coordinate with customers as required during system integration and UAT testing

·         Provide assistance to internal and external operational staff in the performance of Operational Acceptance testing

Experience

Essential

·         At least 4 years experience of functional and non functional testing including load testing, performance and functional automation

·         Experiencing of analysing functional and technical requirements to produce test plans and test cases

·         Experience of technical testing of client / server applications, database servers and networks, covering Java technologies, Sun, Apache and Oracle software environments

·         Experience of configuring tools, simulators and stubs for testing purposes

·         Experience of the HP/Mercury test suite including Quality Center, Load Runner and Quick Test Pro / Winrunner

·         Understanding and experience in the testing of Internet technologies

·         Understanding of test processes and development methodologies
