Based in the London Offices you will be working for a very well known public sector Conference organiser. This business presents a series of interactive, information led, exclusive forums and events designed for people working in the public, private and third sectors.
As conference producer you well ensure the company continues to build strategic relationships with a cross-section of the key players from all the sectors to ensure that its forums and events are on the pulse and meet the needs of everyone concerned.
Job Summary : To plan, develop and produce a series of high profile forums and events in the public sector
1. Write web copy and organise (to deadlines) a series of forums and events
2. Conduct industry research including telephone research, and networking meetings with key contacts
3. Keep up-to-date with current affairs within the public sector
4. Managing speakers, and enlisting the services of national and local politicians and other experts from the public sector
5. Liaising with internal stakeholders, such as well as sales, marketing, event management and editorial teams to ensure the chosen topics are challenging and informative whilst generating sponsorship opportunities.
6. Making a positive contribution to the development of new and profitable ideas which are of benefit to the business unit.
7. Work with speakers, sponsors and exhibitors to obtain bio’s, photo’s, corporate logo’s for web and print materials
8. Assisting in the set-up of events. Assist on-site at events, including assisting at the event registration desk
Likely experience:
Public sector knowledge - Understanding of or experience of working in the public sector whether Local Gov, Central Gov, RDA, NHS etc.
Communication Skills - Excellent internal and external communication skills at senior level across private and public sectors. Much of the role will incorporate forming partnerships and building relationships with key stakeholders and therefore experience and confidence in this area will be vital.
Desirable experience:
Political – Experience of working for an MP or Minister in an advisory/policy capacity and / or have a politics degree.
Event Development – Experience of event idea development, incorporating both public sector policy with an understanding of the commercial viability of the subject area.
Previous Experience – Experience of working in a public sector communication’s environment
Skills/Qualifications:
In addition to the above demonstrable abilities the successful candidate should possess relevant experience in conferences/event programme production. Additionally candidates should be fully conversant with Microsoft Office.
