Every year the company organises over a 100 specialised practical training courses in Europe, Middle East and Africa, with legal topics ranging from Derivatives, Investment Banking to Capital Markets and Project Finance. To date the company has trained over 15,000 market professionals.
This company sits within a leading international business to business publisher, conference, seminars and training course provider, focused primarily on finance. The company is listed on the London stock exchange and achieved a turnover of more than £220 million in 2006.
Job description
Course Producers research the latest trends & topics of interest within an industry and put together the intellectual content of course programmes at the cutting edge of business strategy. They are responsible for structuring the course agenda as a result of live telephone research and face to face meetings with senior managers from a cross section of companies, selecting and inviting high level speakers, copy writing, designing the course brochure and ensuring profitability of entire projects - from the initial idea to the smooth running of the event. Throughout the production cycle they will work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure the best possible marketing campaign. The course producer reports to the head of legal & lease training and works closely with marketing, sales and administration functions.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Intensive desk, telephone and face to face meeting research of course topics through publications, web, tele-interviewing and face to face meetings of senior executives.
- Develop an in-depth topic research brief
- Invite and confirm senior speakers within given deadlines
- Briefing speakers, moderators and course chairmen on their roles within the event
- Identifying new course topics
- Manage on-going relations with speaker faculty pre- and post-course
- Supervise on-site event coordination
- Run and manage events onsite
- Work with marketing to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy
- Brief sales teams on the product and maintain ongoing support and contact throughout the sales cycle.
Skills
- Excellent academic credentials (2.i Bachelors Degree a law or business degree would be an advantage but not essential)
- The ability to assimilate complex information quickly Excellent verbal communication skills for telephone research
- Excellent written communication skills for copywriting
- The ability to sell an original idea to senior managers
- Strong time management skills – able to work under pressure to deadlines
- Entrepreneurial with creative flair
- Strong research skills
- High degree of interest in current business issues and industry trends and the ability to and assimilate those industry trends
- Project management skills
